Thanks to Palm’s expertise in producing top-fermentation as well as bottom-fermentation beers, it offers an exceptional collection of high-quality beers with rich local flavors and tastes. Within the walls of Brewery Palm, you will find Brewery de Hoorn: a microbrewery equipped with modern technology, where our brew masters experiment with herbs, home-grown hops, fruit and wood. They create limited brews of around 1,000 litres, exactly the brewing capacity of Brewery De Hoorn, which opened at the same location in 1706.

History
The history of Brouwerij Palm & De Hoorn goes back to 1706. ‘De Hoorn-Inn’, which has been mentioned since 1380, started its brewing activities in the early 1700s. It provided its guests with locally brewed beer that was brewed with home-grown barley and its own spring water. In the early 1900s, the brewing activities took over. Following the world exhibition in Brussels in 1958, the brewery gained national fame with its beer 'Palm'. Brouwerij De Hoorn was increasingly named after its popular beer Palm, so much so that it was officially renamed Brouwerij Palm in 1975. The brewery continued to expand, with a portfolio of high and low fermented beers. In 2014, the 300-year-old brewery De Hoorn was rebuilt in all its glory within the walls of Brouwerij Palm. The microbrewery, equipped with modern technology, where experiments are conducted with herbs, home-grown hops, fruit and wood, was given the name De Hoorn in honour. They create limited brews of around 1,000 litres, exactly the capacity of the earliest brewing installation. The successful strong blond beer Cornet and Estaminet Refined Lager were first brewed in Brouwerij De Hoorn.
