Swinkels Family Brewers presents 'Onboard Beer & Food Pairing' at World Travel Catering & Onboard Services Expo (WTCE) in Hamburg

Travel and duty-free sector

Swinkels Family Brewers has been active in the travel and duty-free sector for many years and works together with airlines, travel retailers and cruise liners. In 2018, the company launched, in collaboration with Brussels Airport, a Best of Belgium Beer & Bites concept, in which Belgian craft beer was combined with bites prepared by two-star chef Viki Geunes of Restaurant 't Zilte in Antwerp.

The independent family brewery, which has six brewery locations in the Netherlands, Belgium and Ethiopia, presented itself as a player in the travel and duty-free sector during the annual Tax Free World Association (TFWA) event in Cannes in 2017 and 2018 and will now go a step further. At WTCE, the trendsetting event in the field of on-board catering and retail services, the brewery will present their Beer & Food Pairing concepts aimed at both 'buy onboard' and 'complimentary service'.
 

Beer & Food Pairing on board

Swinkels Family Brewers has more than ten years of experience in Beer & Food Pairing. The brewery has been a partner of Les Jeunes Restaurateurs d'Europe (NL) and AEHT (The European Association of Hotel and Tourism Schools) (BE) for many years and works together with top chefs such as Viki Geunes and Ron Blaauw. It is the brewery's mission to use this expertise to bring beer on board with a new experience that creates added value for both the supplier and the traveler.
 

Swinkels Family Brewers and Foodcase in partnership at WTCE

Swinkels Family Brewers will present itself at WTCE together with Foodcase International. Foodcase provides innovative catering concepts for more than 45 airlines worldwide. Swinkels Family Brewers strives, together with Foodcase International and in consultation with the inflight departments of the airlines, to offer an innovative beer concept of high quality and added value.
 

Top chef Viki Geunes ('t Zilte Antwerpen - ** Michelin) ambassador at WTCE

At the WTCE, celebrity chef Viki Geunes will host tasting sessions of Swinkels Family Brewers’ beers in combination with special dishes Geunes has developed and he will advise visitors about this concept. Viki Geunes: "Being able to share beer and gastronomy with travelers from all over the world is unique. As a chef, I am very pleased to be able to contribute to the further development of 'onboard' food concepts."
