Queen Máxima celebrates 300 years of brewery Bavaria

Lieshout 28 March 2019 - This year Swinkels Family Brewers celebrate the 300th anniversary of brewery Bavaria. Her Majesty Queen Máxima was present today at the official kick-off of this anniversary year while visiting the brewery in Lieshout. Here Queen Máxima met the 6^th, 7^th and 8^th generation of the Swinkels family and spoke with several employees during the guided tour of brewery Bavaria. Finally, in her presence, a 300-litre barrel was broached and glasses were clinked by all those present. 

Jan-Renier Swinkels, Head of the Board of Directors: "We felt very privileged to welcome Queen Máxima as our guest in honour of our 300th anniversary, a very beautiful and important moment in the history of our family business and everyone who belongs to our family. During this anniversary year, we will reflect on the way in which we brewed and built over the past 300 years, sharing special anecdotes and memories. We will also look at what the future of our family business has in store for us and how to pass it on to our children and grandchildren in an even better state than it already is. As we also owe the achievement of this special anniversary to our staff, we will celebrate our birthday in a grandiose way together with our employees and their partners, our business relations and, last but not least, a special royal visit! All this at the brewery in Lieshout, the place where our brewer's story started."

Royal Swinkels Family Brewers
The celebration of the 300th anniversary of brewery Bavaria began on 27 March 2019 when Swinkels Family Brewers was presented with the Royal designation by Wim van de Donk, the Royal Commissioner of the Province of North Brabant. The company is now officially named Royal Swinkels Family Brewers.
