Remake of one of the most legendary Bavaria 0.0 commercials

Lieshout, 18 August 2017 - Yesterday afternoon, Diego Armando Maradona went for a Bavaria 0.0. At the request of Bavaria, he filmed a remake in the PSV Stadium of Marco van Basten's sensational commercial for Bavaria 0.0 from 1993. The Argentinian football star, who still has an amazing kick technique, uncorked a bottle of Bavaria 0.0 in a magnificent fashioned and juggled like he did in his playing days. Maradona's commercial can be viewed on the Bavaria Facebook page from today. Consumers can win an exclusive football training with Maradona on Thursday 24 August for themselves and a group of friends.

The former Argentine football star is in the Dutch town of Mierlo with his club Al Fujairah for a training camp. Last week, the sports phenomenon attended the first game of the Dutch Eredivisie season, PSV-AZ, in the PSV football stadium in Eindhoven. This inspired the Swinkels family, owners of Bavaria, to ask Maradona whether he wanted to promote their alcohol-free beer: Bavaria 0.0, in the same way as Marco van Basten did in 1993, in the San Siro Stadium in Milan.

Peer Swinkels: “We have a long history with legendary TV commercials with a nice twist. When we found out Maradona would be in the area, and was in for a real Bavaria 0.0, we simply had to grab the opportunity to remake our most legendary commercial ever with him. We are very proud of the end result."
