Her Majesty Queen Máxima will be present this afternoon at the official opening of the anniversary year of Brewery Bavaria, where beer will be served from a 300 litre barrel. Parent company Swinkels Family Brewers, of which Brewery Bavaria is a part, is still a 100% independent family business with the seventh generation of Swinkels at the helm. During the visit attention will also be paid to the international initiatives of Swinkels Family Brewers, such as Brewery Habesha in Ethiopia, where the family business, along with 8,000 local shareholders, supports the brewing of local beer.
Jan-Renier Swinkels, Head of the Board of Directors: "We are very honoured to receive Queen Máxima on 28 March in honour of the 300th anniversary of our Lieshout brewery. Many milestones have been reached and many stories can be told about the past 300 years. It will be an honour to share some of these with Queen Máxima. We will celebrate our 300th anniversary for the entire year, but 28 March will mark the official start of the jubilee year. We owe the achievement of this special anniversary to the many people who were involved. That is why we will celebrate our anniversary year together with our employees, their partners, the family, business relations, collaboration partners, fellow brewers, local residents, our beer lovers and now also a royal visit!”
