The Brewing Processes team at Royal Swinkels is globally responsible for developing brewery and process technology for our various breweries. Within our circularity framework, Royal Swinkels is continuously seeking improvements. In addition to purchasing circular raw materials and operating sustainably, we explore opportunities for high-value reuse. Surplus yeast can be used as animal feed, including pet food and can also be processed for human consumption.
What will you do?
In our R&D lab we have a small reactor that enables targeted research into fermentation processes. You will investigate specific yeast components, depending on yeast growth and nutrition. Parameters such as oxygen, temperature, and pH will serve as variables in your experiments.
About you
You are a Bachelor’s or Master’s student, preferably in Biotechnology or Food/Process Technology, with an affinity for biorefinery.
You have a strong analytical mindset and quickly grasp complex processes, while remaining pragmatic and results-oriented.
You’re passionate about biotechnology, energetic, and strong in interpersonal communication. You use these qualities to build buy-in for your internship research and to get things moving.
Knowledge and experience in biorefinery/fermentation processes is a plus.
