Brewery
Bavaria

The small Dutch brewery that started out over 300 years ago in a farm in Lieshout has since grown into an international family business. Its success is partly due to the daring switch from top- to bottom-fermenting beer in 1925. Bavaria also benefits from being able to use our natural mineral water sources and our own malt house. As a result, Bavaria has virtually the entire chain under its own management.

History

Bavaria is one of the oldest breweries in the Netherlands. It dates back to 1719, when it was founded under its original name 'De Kerkdijk'. The Moorees family brewed craft beer there on a small scale. One of the daughters married a Swinkels. Their descendants took over the brewery in 1764. Since then, the brewery and the Swinkels name have become inextricably linked.
