Royal Swinkels is the holding company of the Swinkels Group, a 100% independent family business that has existed for seven generations and for over 300 years.

The sole shareholder of Royal Swinkels is Ambrig, whose shares are held exclusively by Stichting Administratiekantoor Ambrig. This foundation has issued depositary receipts for shares in Ambrig to the descendants of the original Swinkels brewing family. The family indirectly holds the full economic interest in Royal Swinkels through its depositary receipts.

Royal Swinkels has two tiers of management: the Supervisory Board and the Executive Board, the latter of which comprises Peer Swinkels (CEO) and the CFO. There are six divisions below these boards, consisting of Swinkels Family Brewers, Holland Malt, Habesha, Cuba, Georgia Beer and Beverages Group and Swinkels Real Estate. Our company-wide strategy is implemented by the six divisional boards and adapted to local market conditions. This structure enables us to adapt quickly to challenges and opportunities in a fast-paced world.

Six divisions

The organizational structure of Royal Swinkels consists of six divisions: Swinkels Family Brewers, Holland Malt, Habesha, Cuba, Georgia Beer and Beverages Group and Swinkels Real Estate. Each division has its own management team and conducts its own business in line with our company strategy. This agile structure enables us to adapt quickly to challenges and opportunities in a fast-paced world.

Swinkels Family Brewers

With 300 different options to choose from, Swinkels Family Brewers’ mission is to offer the right beer for every occasion. Its rich range consists of a variety of authentic and well-known brands, as well as alcohol-free beers and other drinks. Swinkels Family Brewers consists of the following seven breweries: Bavaria, Palm, Rodenbach, De Hoorn, De Molen, De Koningshoeven and Uiltje Brewing Company.

Holland Malt

Holland Malt is a global supplier of sustainable- and high quality malt products. The division’s mission is to serve the international brewing and distilling industry with a wide range of the best quality pilsner, distilling, speciality and craft malts. It combines in-house brewing knowledge with sustainable technology and realizes world’s first emission-free malthouse in 2024.

Habesha

The mission of our Ethiopian division Habesha is to reach and connect with every Ethiopian Habesha has expanded five-fold over the past five years. It is now focused on sourcing a large part of its raw materials locally, which will sustainably benefit the Ethiopian economy.

Cuba

Cerveceria Cubana is a joint venture between Royal Swinkels Family Brewers S.L. and Corporacion Cuba Ron S.A. It has developed the new Cuban beer brand ‘Parranda’. The brewery, built in 2023, is strategically located at the port of Mariel, just 45 km outside the capital city of Havana.

Georgia Beer and Beverages Group

Global Beer and Beverages Group is a company in Tbilisi that on one hand produces beers and lemonades within the brewery of Global Beer Georgia and on the other hand distributes different kind of beverages to consumers throughout the region with Georgia Distribution and Logistics.

Swinkels Real Estate

The Swinkels Real Estate division provides benefits for effectively managing the portfolio of on-trade locations in the Netherlands, Belgium and elsewhere. It aims to further develop the portfolio in terms of visibility and sustainability.
